Cedar Bend is an eight-person music project formed out of the lifelong dreams of ambitious jazz musicians and music producers. Founded within the walls of the University of Michigan’s of School of Music, they are dedicated to bridging gaps between all types of musical genres.

Currently based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the members of Cedar Bend love building a community around music and their passion for it as they play shows around their home. With a diverse set of members hailing from many different parts of the United States and cultures from around the world, they are a perfect example of a band that captures a contemporary sound by breaking sonic boundaries tied to culture and location.

Influenced by the various sounds of different cultures and areas, Cedar Bend also draws from the likes of Radiohead, King Krule, Bon Iver, Tame Impala, Bright Eyes, various jazz greats. Using jazz harmonies and rhythm while also bringing lyrical and modern production elements to the table, they craft a sound that is truly unique to them. Currently working on an EP, their debut single “Roots” can be found on all streaming platforms now!
